Unfortunately Karen
by J.R. Luis
Karen Soledad isn’t winning at life. Aside from being painfully shy, she feels trapped as a model on a daytime game show, lives with her decision-making overprotective mom, and she’s never had a real boyfriend ever in her life. Even her name has become a joke to describe irrational middle-aged women. When Karen’s offered a job co-hosting an extreme bachelor show that’ll travel the country for three months, her mom and manager both decide she should go.
As the only female in the group not vying for bachelor Beck’s heart, Karen enjoys the change of scenery and the extreme challenges associated with the show. (Way better than dropping cards into slots, right?) She and Beck form an easy friendship, giving her a confidence boost and a much-needed fresh start.
When it becomes apparent that Beck and Karen have more chemistry than any of the actual contestants, the producer threatens to end her career and financially ruin Beck for ignoring his contractual obligation to propose to a contestant. With both their futures in jeopardy, will Karen choose to live for herself or lose out on her heart’s grand prize?
